Mortgage providers

We have just had an offer accepted and we need to apply for our mortgage. We are not concerned about affordability or a low rate because we will look to remortgage in a year as we are doing a major renovation.

However, I am due a baby and would like to complete before May. Knowing I can't control that fully I want to do everything I can to speed things up from our side. So I was hoping that some of you agreed a mortgage recently and wouldn't mind telling who your mortgage is with and how long it took for the full approval.

Thanks so much!

HSBC were super quick for us. We went through a broker and had our mortgage offer within a week.

Nationwide super fast, Santander took ages.

HSBC through a mortgage broker - had the OK back within 24hrs. This was 2 months ago. Was very surprised!

We've been waiting 5 weeks for Accord via a broker and they said that Accord was one of the quicker ones, it has not been.
I know a couple of people who've recently done a NatWest mortgage and that's been super quick (about 3/4 weeks)

Halifax, always been quick for us.

Hiya, we went through Lloyds and within less than a week had our homebuyers survey carried out through them then the next week received our mortgage offer through the post. This was the start of December they were very quick!
