New Build Companies

Hi,

Is anyone able to give any advice on which are generally the ‘better’ new build companies, and which to definitely avoid?

It depends on the site, not just the company. I have had an excellent experience with Barratt, excellent quality build and their site manager has been brilliant at resolving any issues, I'd happily recommend our site, but it's a big National builder and I know others have had difficulties on other sites. So if you have a location in mind I would see if you can get a hold of reviews of the specific site either online or knocking on doors (probably not a good idea atm!) a lot of new estates have their own Facebook accounts so could be worth trying to join one of those and gauge opinions.

Thanks for the advice!

Depends on where you are and what you want. Locally the mid price builders (including Red Row) all provide similar levels of product. You only really get something special when you choose the high end, high spec new builds and those guys are all local builders (many of whom inherited the land they’re building on).

Thanks! I guess I’d only really find out about the local builders when they come up on Rightmove? I’ll have a look at local EA websites to see if I can find any local builders on there too.

.... though Persimmon tends to be talked about in a category of its own..... and not in a good way!

Thanks for the heads up!
