Not in a rush to sell our house and I dont mind sorting viewings myself etc. Trying to decide between strike (no fee) and a local estate agents (£1500) fee. Any input appreciated.

We moved into our current house in August and it was on with Strike although they were called House Simple when we put our offer in. They were a nightmare to work with and we would never buy a house with online agency again! You rarely spoke to the same person twice and at one point they put the house back on the market telling us the vendors told them to and telling the vendors we'd pulled out - neither was true, luckily we had the vendors phone number so spoke to them directly. They don't have offices so our vendor had to wait around for the money to transfer so he could hand over the keys to us in person. Not an issue for us but a nuisance for him as moving to the other end of the country so faced a very long journey at the end of a long day.

I am using them at the moment!
So far I’ve found them pretty good. Everything was sorted to put it on the market within a few days and the app they have is really good. It lets me make appointments and send messages to the viewers.
No idea how they are regarding closing yet. Hopefully I’ll find out soon and let you know!

Btw no affiliation or anything. Went with them purely due to costs as they were the cheapest. Just paid £499 for photos by a professional photographer.

I needed every penny i could get so I sold with housesimple and did the viewings myself.
It was CRAZY easy I can't imagine using an estate agent every again to be frank.

I much preferred being able to see my buyers face to face to get the measure of them. Sorting things out and answering questions and harassing conveyancers both sides was all so much easier.

The viewers liked it because they could view in the evenings and weekends when they actually wanted to view rather than 11.30 on a Wednesday.

It was simple and saved thousands.

We bought a house through strike and I liked that it meant that we essentially dealt with and negotiated direct with the vendor, it was just the platform that was there to facilitate that. Meant it was easier to chase the sale through.
