Wren kitchen - can I cancel

BeingAMumIsHardWorm · 25/01/2021 18:11

Does anyone know what my cancellation rights are with Wren kitchens?

We paid a deposit and signed a finance agreement with them on 11th January.

If our circumstances have changed and we cannot go ahead with the finance agreement can we cancel and get our deposit back ?

Have you asked them? What does your finance agreement say?

ShirleyCurly · 25/01/2021 18:14

If you were in their shop when you signed up, you have no legal right to cancel. Whether they allow you to will be in the terms of the contract you signed.

For finance you usually have a 14 day cooling off period ?

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 25/01/2021 18:19

You can probably cancel but you will lose your deposit.

We put an order in, probably about 3 years ago, for half a kitchen (we were replacing an old dresser with a bank of units) and we changed our mind. They cancelled the order and gave us our money back.

BeingAMumIsHardWorm · 25/01/2021 18:25

It is 14 days today we signed the finance agreement

If I send an email now cancelling even though they are closed, will that count as within 14 days ??

Worth a try

Skyliner001 · 25/01/2021 18:26

It's well worth a go, I would imagine it goes on till midnight on the 14th day. It might be worth googling that… If you send the email now, then at least you will have a record of it.

No as it's past close of business hours which would have been at 530pm

What's changed in the space of 2 weeks? A lot of people troop out the "change of circumstances" excuse when really they've just changed their minds/had a better quote elsewhere?

Skyliner001 · 25/01/2021 18:29

Ah no, I've just checked with citizens advice, and if you signed the contract in the store then there is no legal cooling off period. That only applies for over the phone, online, or doorstep sellers.

The best option is probably to attempt to negotiate with the seller?

Alternatively check your contract as some have more generous cancellation policies than others. But unfortunately an email won't help.

Skyliner001 · 25/01/2021 18:32

If the kitchen company were providing you with the finance as an intermediary , and the finance company is different, then maybe you would fall within the cooling off period. I'll probably send the email anyway, as you have nothing to lose.

NotABeliever · 25/01/2021 20:35

You will probably lose your deposit. That's it.
Finance doesn't start until the order is complete which it won't be if you've only paid the deposit. If you cancel your kitchen order, Wren will notify the finance company that funding is no longer needed.
Hope this helps.

Very poor quality Milano range. Top of washing machine integrated door blown and wren refused to honour warranty stating it’s my fault and not a manufacturer fault. The item is clearly faulty as had not been sealed properly during manufacturing. See attached photo and judge for yourself.

Wren kitchen - can I cancel

I'm pretty sure you can cancel until you've given your fixed in stone install date.

Di11y · 30/08/2021 13:32

We paid a deposit for a wren kitchen but kept looking in case we found what we wanted cheaper as they said we'd get a full refund until the install date was agreed and design 'fixed' (further contracts signed at that point I think)
