Bathroom - bath with separate shower cubicle or bath with shower over?

We’re redoing our bathroom and debating whether to put in a separate shower. The bathroom is 2.3m by 2.2m. We’ve measured up and there is room.
My dh is adamant we need a separate shower, but I’d like a bigger bath with shower over and room for storage, wash basket etc.
We already have a shower room downstairs with shower cubicle 800x1200 so a decent size.
I just don’t see the point in another shower cubicle when we can have a bigger bath and more floor space.
Would be grateful for some opinions please!
Thanks

It depends on how comprised the bath would be.

I like showers, I would always choose a separate shower if I could. I wouldn’t want to be traipsing downstairs to use a proper shower.

Personally, seperate shower cubicle upstairs.

The bath would still be a decent size, 700x1700.
The shower would have to be 800x900 or we may be able to fit 800x1000 so would be quite small.

A separate bath is just another fecking thing to clean IMO Grin

We have both set ups. I hate the shower over the larger bath version for several reasons: the bath takes almost all the hot water to fill it to a decent depth, I am too short to lie in it comfortably and keep slipping down, the shower screen is a pain - I could go on. So I would go for the separate shower.

Also, like Allgirlskidsanddogs, I wouldn't want to schlep downstairs for a decent shower.

I've had both types but our separate shower was big. I really dont mind a shower over the bath but I intend in our next home to once again have a standard alone one in one of the bathroom as I'm thinking to do before I'm too old ...

I'd rather have no bath at all and a decent shower cubicle than a shower over the bath for your main shower.

My parents chose to have a bath with a shower rather than separate cubicle. The bath is absolutely huge and takes an age and a huge amount of hot water to fill, whenever anyone gets in the bath they are too small for it and slip down. It's a first world problem but I think had they known they would've got a smaller bath and separate cubicle

Personally I'd go for the bigger bath, as I love baths but am tall so am often a bit scrunched up in small baths. Plus extra storage in a bathroom would be good.
You already have a separate shower just on another floor so seems a bit shower overkill.

Definitely separate shower if there is the space. Good points above about big baths although with my long legs (36" inside leg!) it is rare that I can lie down.
