Anyone have experience with council housing

So I’ve been on the council house register for coming up to a year. I have a 4 month old little boy.

Today the council emailed asking for further documentation, birth certificates, proof of benefits, bank statements etc. On their email, they said ‘we are considering you for an offer of accommodation’ and to please respond with the needed documents within 48 hours. Does this mean after sending the documents I’m going to be offered a property? Any one else had the same email?

TIA Flowers

Yes, it's likely you have been shortlisted for a property, and the extra info requested is so they can satisfy themselves that you are appropriate for the potential tenancy, can afford the rent etc

If you submit the documents in time, and they are in order, then the next stage should be for them to offer you an appointment to view the property

Oh yes that sounds very positive, I live in a housing association and they asked for the same, when I was selected for a property. Good luck Smile

I don't have experience but it does sound very promising.
