Hi,

Just wanted tips in terms of how you project plan your extension / interior work (including decoration)? I have created an excel sheet with the planning bits I have so far but have no idea what I’ll need to do next and technical internet resources are hard to find.

I've always started with a sketch of the existing house, then added various options for the extension. Just all very rough stuff until I'm happy with a layout. Then draw a better version of it and think about the internal finishes.
Then realise I can't afford it and start again lol
Planning process is very straight forward and documented by your LPA but it's a good idea to have a chat with them if you have a lot of questions or think theres a chance of refusal.
If it falls under PD then still get a cert of lawfulness to cover yourself.

Anything specific that you want to know?

Maybe of help - use around 2.2 - 2.5k per new sqm added and best guess for internal finish depending on your looking at supplier costs. Labour costs vary a lot.
Renovation of existing is dependent on whether you're moving walls, adding steels etc but if it's a straight paint job then comparatively very low cost!
