Looking to buy some bathroom suites for our extension/renovation. Can anyone recommend any online suppliers? I'm assuming some are better than others, quality wise, but am clueless!

Victoria Plum are awful!! Cancelled our order on the day, have no email or customer service telephone number to contact and only use chat bots to communicate. 10 days later and not only do i not have a bathroom but my refund has yet to come through. Avoid, avoid, avoid

SlightlyJaded · 19/01/2021 20:37

Also renovating.

My builder said Victoria Plumbing - good
Victoria Plum - bad

Soak and Drench ok, but stick to known brands.

Surplus2requirements · 19/01/2021 21:17

Another vote to avoid Victoria Plum, poor quality control and after sales service is non existent.
I usually advise my customers to buy from merchants with showrooms so they can see and feel the quality of what they're choosing and any issues can be resolved easily and quickly.

NotABeliever · 19/01/2021 21:44

Don't buy from QS Supplies! I had the worst time!

Knittedfairies · 19/01/2021 21:46

Ask your plumber; they know where to find the good stuff.

onyourway · 19/01/2021 21:55

I gave up traipsing round the bathroom showrooms pre Covid and went to Aston Matthews. High end, not flouncy, good quality and really good service

raeray · 19/01/2021 22:01

I used Victorian plumbing recently and was happy with the service and the items ordered (whole bathroom suite including shower and toilet).
Tiles I went to tops tiles and again happy with them too.

We used Uk bathrooms.com.

They were very good and would use them again. Quality products and fast delivery.

TaniaKP · 19/01/2021 23:21

We've had good experience with www.tradeplumbing.co.uk and www.plumbnation.co.uk for the towel rail and valves.

Shorthairlady · 19/01/2021 23:45

I bought most of my bits from Plumbworld and Best Heating for the en-suite. Was impressed and will buy from them again when I do main bathroom.

mumdone · 20/01/2021 07:04

City plumbing. Local plumbing merchants. Very helpful and next day delivery.

MyDucksArentInARow · 20/01/2021 07:12

Give Dramco a call, they supply traders mostly. Tradetaps, tradewetrooms and bathrooms2u are their websites. I'd say its worth calling to see what they're stocking. I've browsed their catalogues and they do a lot of research into which brands are just branding items and you can buy them without the brand cheaper. I think over lock down they got an Amazon presence.

Going against the grain, we used Victoria plum and had a good experience. All delivered as planned. We had one item (bathtub) which had the very corner slightly damaged - we rang customer services and they sent out a free replacement within 48hours. We asked what they wanted us to do with the damaged one (hadn't shown them any proof!) And the phone operative said they didn't need it back... So we sold it on gumtree for 75% of the original price! Nice little saving. It is on the cheaper side though, so after 5 years everything was still fine but showing a little age in places. You get what you pay for!

ShirleyCurly · 20/01/2021 07:41

Plumb world were very easy to deal with and the delivery service was excellent.

ostrom · 20/01/2021 07:58

I ordered my shower and taps from Victorian Plumbing and they were excellent, no problems.

Used MJ Bathrooms for the suite, took two weeks to hear from them initially and the items arrived from different places which I needed to keep track of, but the customer service on the phone was excellent and problems were resolved within a day (they didn't send radiator valves with the radiator, I had ordered them, but arrived the next day once I had made them aware).

Depends on your budget, but we have used Bathrooms by Design several times, and we're very happy. They will design your bathroom for free online/over the phone, then handle the supply. You need to have your own fitter.

What they supply is high spec and good value for the spec, but not budget - by which I mean, you will 100% find a cheaper loo, or basin, or shower tray than the one they supply, but they're very competitive on the specific item - so you want that exact one, or one of a similar spec/quality, the prices are keen.

Also, it's definitely worth talking to then rather than just using the website - there are big discounts if you go through the planners.

AwkwardPaws27 · 20/01/2021 13:28

Victorian Plumbing were ok - everything I ordered arrived in good condition, although the delivery date was several weeks later than originally stated and they didn't keep me updated on delays/changes, I had to log into my account to check (ordered in September 2020).

Drench were excellent - order delivered on time, and when I needed to exchange the shower tray (decided to go slightly smaller after seeing it in situ) it was easily arranged to deliver the new one and collect the original one for a £15 swap over fee.

Murinae · 20/01/2021 13:51

We used Victoria plum and everything was fine and good quality. One cupboard was broken so they sent a replacement within 48 hours.

I have just had a design/quote from Bathrooms By Design. They have a branch very local to me.

Exactly as you describe: A fair price for quality pieces and a good experience. As things stand, we are going with their design and a couple of their bits and shopping around (Victoria Plumbing) for the rest.

rbe78 · 20/01/2021 16:11

I've used Victorian Plumbing and Heat & Plumb - both were fine.

UptownFunkYouUp · 20/01/2021 21:25

Thanks for all the suggestions and advice. Will be taking a look at a number of these (and avoiding some others!)
