Through lounge

Currently we have a lounge/diner. However, with an extension on the way, we will soon have a kitchen diner instead. My idea for the through lounge would be, living area at the front and play area in the old dining part. Has anyone done something similar?

It's a good idea as long rectangular living rooms are a pain as far as TV viewing/ seating etc are concerned. Is there the option to put up folding doors between the two so that you can hide the play room if you just want a grown up space in the evening? That would be my own preference.

Ideally yes. Even better a stud wall. However, for now, trying to create am effective layout with minimal cost implications. Thanks for the ideas.
