Quartz worktop - shiny or matte finish?

Its probably going to be whiteish in a fairly dark room. My first thought was shiny as it would reflect the light around a bit but are they a nightmare with smears?
I don't want to spend my life buffing worktops Smile

I am having a similar conundrum but I thought matt would show up more dirt! Waiting for experienced posts now Grin

maybe get samples of both and then over a few days treat the samples like you would a worktop and see which one you prefer

I’ve had both. Any pure white worktop you’re going to spend your life wiping down whether matte or gloss. Matte annoyed me less because I couldn’t see smears and fingerprints everywhere in different lights.

Would you have a white one again? Was yours quartz? Thanks

The gloss was granite, the matte was quartz. And yes - I would and did choose white again! I now have matte white Corian which still shows marks but I like white so it’s just one of those things I have to live with.

Agree with previous poster that samples are a good idea, although you probably won’t get the full impression from very small samples.

I've got shiny quartz - and my island is white shiny quartz. I love it personally.

Thank you, how do you find the scratching?

I would recommend you get a pattern rather than a solid colour as that covers any fingerprints/marks

We have fugen irini and i love it so much!

Thank you, that is lovely but I think I need a very light one as the room is naturally dark

Ours hasn't scratched at all (and I'm not particularly careful)!
