Anyone live in Petersham?

Is there a community feel? Is the airplane noise alright? Is it a pain getting into Richmond? Anything else I need to know about the area?

I grew up near there. Nice place to live and lovely to be near both Richmond Park and the river. The main pain is no train station so it's always a bus into Richmond or Kingston, it can make a journey feel longer than necessary if you need to commute into London every day.

Oh and airplane noise, I lived more directly under the flight path than Petersham / Ham and you get used to the noise, just became another background noise to me.

I don’t live in Petersham but fairly close, also on flight path. Have lived here nearly 2 years and was a bit worried about plane noise, but actually it’s fine. You get used to it and it’s weeks since I actually noticed a plane (they are flying overhead!)

Ok thank you. Yes plane noise seemed fine. I guess I was more interested in the ‘feel’ of the place. Whether it had a community feel as it does seem a bit out of the centre iyswim

Hello, I realise this is an old thread but I just wondered if you ended up living in Petersham and how you found it if you did…
