Help with bathroom colours and tiles please!

We are getting our bathroom replaced next month and we still haven't decided on colours and tiles. What we do have is some mosiac tiles which will be the sink splashback, these are a turquoise/mint/white/grey mix, and are the same as the other two toilets in the house. The bathroom suite (bath and sink) will be white.

What we can't decide is how to colour the rest of the room. What colour walls and what colour tiles would go? We were thinking maybe mint green, but should this be mint tiles and white walls, or white tiles and mint walls, or what? Or both white, but dh thinks this is too boring?!

Help please, I don't think either of us have a good a taste decor and I really want our bathroom to look good!

Love your mosaic tiles! Personally I would go with white tiles along side paint any colour in the mosaics on the wall. That way if you fancy a change you can just repaint the wall. If you go for mint tiles it will be hard to make a change.

White. Everything white. They are retro jazzy tiles and I don’t think anything goes with them. You have them in 3 bathrooms now?

SatsumaFan · 09/01/2021 23:58

Why are you using the same tiles in all three bathrooms op?

Definitely white tiles and pale walla, and have the flexibility to change wall colour by grabbing a tin of paint in the future.

Of course you can have them in three bathrooms if you want. What colour do you have in the other bathrooms to go with them?

Personally I’d have white tiles elsewhere (perhaps even more of the dotty tiles along the bath?)

I love those! Can I ask where they came from? I’ve fallen for some called ‘spectre’ from topps tiles but they are SO expensive.

Thanks for the replies!

We have two toilets in the house (upstairs and downstairs), then a separate bathroom without a toilet. Each toilet will have these tiles as a basin splashback as like a theme through the house.

I got them from wallsandfloors.co.uk, but they don't seem to list them anymore. They are called Bewitched Enchanted Hexagon Mosaic Tiles.

You don’t need to theme bathrooms. At least not with this tiles! There is fun to be had in choosing different looks!

Sometimes keeping things simple is the way to go, so if you want the same tiles throughout, go for it. Frankly if you wanted to have them in the kitchen too, good for you.

I vote for white or very pale tiles and toning paint

We rented a house in which the bathroom had mosaic tiles all over - they're a nightmare to clean with all that grout!

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/01/2021 11:04

I'd pick white tiles and pick out that pale grey on the mosaic for the walls or towels, you can afford to pick the brighter colours for the toilets I think but I'd keep the bathroom more relaxed or just match the brighter colours in the towels etc.

Warmer, earthier neutrals are coming back. You could pick out one of the almond or mushroom neutral tones from your tiles for the walls?
