Are grey tiles going out of fashion?

So I have Victorian patterned floor tiles in my bathroom, and I had decided on white metro tiles on the walls however I have these in both my other bathrooms so I want something different. I want tiles that will contrast slightly to the white bath, sink, toilet etc. I found these which I like, but I know those all grey everything houses were the rage a few years ago and seem to be dying out in favour of colour and pattern which I am all for. So, are these tiles a bad choice? Has grey had its moment?

Disclaimer* This isn't my photo, I found it on Facebook when looking for photos of the tiles I liked.

@Othering

Love the floor but hate the wall tiles. They're not even a dated trendy grey. They're just cheapest generic builders tiles. I'd personally go white tiles with grey grout for contrast.
We have patterned floor in both our other bathrooms, with metro tiles and dark grout on the walls which I love as they are half tiled.

Our family bathroom is fully tiled, and small and they just didn't suit in there. There's no where I can paint and white just all blended in. I don't like grey really, but I like the stone look of these. They were an upgrade from standard so not cheap shit ones.

Why do you need it all tiled anyway? Sure the splash back but the whole wall? I prefer a painted wall and then you can change it..?

I think it works, as the floor tiles are so busy you need something plain on the walls. It’s not to my taste, I do think it looks quite cold, there is no warmth, but that’s not relevant as it’s your bathroom not mine. 😃

For me though, I’d go darker tiled. Something like the attached image, to make it look less sterile. You know something isn’t right when you need to rely on your towel colour.

You could also do a feature somewhere, like a splash back, and use something like these silver metallic ones. Break it up a bit.
