Divan bed. Adding storage

We recently bought a new bed. Don't ask me why, but we chose one with no storage drawers. Love the bed otherwise, but desperately need more storage, just for bedding. My question is, has anybody added any drawers to a divan. I can feel there's a space behind the material. Feel that there must be a way, but I am a neat freak and don't want to risk ruining the bed. Anyone able to advise please?

i dont think you can as a divan without drawers is just a box shape to make the base whereas one with drawers is built with an internal frame to take the drawers

If the underneath of the base is hollow , could you pack things in vacuum bags and position themcarefully, then put the bed on top.

No I think the bed wouldn't last long if you did that.

Ottoman thing for the end?

Thanks for the replies folks. I think I will either have to live with it, or wait a bit and see if I could get away with buying a different base Grin. Our bedroom is too small for an ottoman. Previous bed was wooden frame so we had lovely storage baskets with lids. Don't know what I was thinking!. Just so happy to be getting a new, comfy bed. Ah well...

i know your pain we bought a divan with two drawers and i wish i had bought one with four now as my bed linen gets squished in and lost one box in my wardrobe for the towels

Oh. Two drawers are better than none Grin
