Help with layout for home

Hi there
We have recently moved into our new home and have lots of ideas in the making.

The first plan is to relocate the utility into the garage and then knock through the kitchen into the dining room (we have a company enlisted to do this)

Our next issue is that we would like the lounge to be a snug area seperated by the dining room by glass doors. We would like one v large corner sofa in the room however the only way of fitting this in would be to block off the door into the lounge from
the hallway. To be honest the hallway is narrow anyway so it don't hurt to do that but logistically I can't decide if it'll be a real pain in the bum every time you want to leave the lounge to go the loo for example.

Has anyone done anything similar or could share any ideas that I may not have considered please

Our house is very similar layout. I wouldn't block the door from hall to lounge, if anything I would consider blocking the double doors from lounge to dining room to fit the corner sofa in. Moving the utility into the garage is a good idea. Will you have enough counter top work surface. We made the back door into a window with a pensinular breakfast bar so can sit and see the garden. We too knocked through from kitchen to dining room and use the conservatory door to get out in to the garden.

Hi @sparklystarshinebright
Thankyou so much for your response!
Wow how could I have never considered blocking the double doors before?! Now I can visualise it that seems like such a better idea, Thankyou!

Re the kitchen you and I are on the a similar page. Our plan is to get new worktops and have the existing cupboards painted (maybe buy one or two extra) and have a layout similar to this picture (found on Instagram!)
Xx
