Carpet fitter labour rates

Hello

I'm coming to the end of the renovation of our new home and predictably, am running low on funds but still have bits like the carpets to be fitted!

Can anyone let me know approx ballpark labour cost I would be looking at for having someone fit new carpets in a medium-large sized 3 bed 1930s property. Specifically, living room, stairs, upstairs hallway and 3 bedrooms ( 2 doubles and box room). Think we're looking at 1-1.5 days work.

Also any advice for where to find independent Carpet fitters would be fab. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Area of country?

I would be guessing at £300 min per day plus materials plus VAT in London but I imagine it varies enormously.

@pooeylouie Try speaking to Shaun at E&E Enterprises in Great Barr, Birmingham. He's a fab carpet fitter and is working at the moment and reasonable cost. He's done all my floors.

We recently used carpetright for two average sized bedrooms, stairs, and living room - standard 2 up 2 down house layout - and it was around £200 (Surrey)

Ask on facebook for recommendations and have a chat with a few. Definitely cheaper that using carpetright etc.
I supplied the carpets and the fitter supplied the underlay, I was actually surprised at how cheap it was!

Thank you, yes I was thinking of doing the same thing as I've actually seen a huge offcut of the carpet I'm interested in on eBay. So would k ok not need someone to fit really. Great suggestion- will try Facebook too, thanks.
