Mortgage Offer/Furlough

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has any advice?

I was furloughed in March 2020 for roughly 10 weeks and have been back at work since. My partner has worked through all lockdowns.

I am 32 weeks pregnant and my employer has asked me if i would like to take furlough at 100% pay (they will make up the rest) until i am due on maternity leave (15th Feb).

My question is, our mortgage application was accepted in November and issued to our solicitor however, we are not due to complete on our home until 23rd February - do you think being on furlough would warrant the bank withdrawing their mortgage offer?

Thank you in advance

I had a remember of staff in the first lockdown moving house and put on furlough. Basically I was asked to do a letter confirming that she would still have a job to go back to and they accepted that.

Not sure if all banks do that but hers did.

Good luck!

Does your furlough show on your payslips? If not, who’s to know?

It did the first time round yes however i could speak to my line manager and see if there is something they can do about this.

My staff member got asked just before completion if anything had changed and she admitted she had been put on furlough, it caused her a lot of worry but like I said above the letter was accepted in the end.
