Gas metre

Hi! Is a gas engineer allowed to move your gas metre or does it HAVE to be the power supplier?

Has to be the supplier, as they own it.

What if you have changed supplier? Is it the current or original supplier

It’s not your supplier, it’s whoever manages the infrastructure.

You do need to start by calling your supplier though and they’ll tell you who to contact to get it moved.

So no, not any old gas engineer either.

(We just had ours done, moved it about two metres, paid £700...)
