Hi all,

I need some advice on Newark. Me and hubby are moving there and hopefully start a family soon. Is there any recommendations you have on the town? I’ve not been there yet but heard a lot about the sugar factory smell. How bad is it ?
We are moving to town center if it helps.

Thank you so much

It’s the treatment works that stink most and when you get a double whammy it’s absolutely horrible and I wouldn’t want to live there. The smell reaches the town centre too. Do you absolutely have to move there? If not there are some lovely towns and villages close but not too close.

Oh nooo!! We are looking around sconce and Devon park area, does it usually get there too? Seems so far from the treatment plan

I love Newark and visit quite a lot. Sometimes there is a sugar smell but after a while I dont smell it. It's like Worcester and the sauce smell. The last time I was there so much had closed in the centre and as a big city girl I find the closing hours are very early. But it's very relaxed and the market square is beautiful!
