Do you live with a serial repairer?

As per the question are you or your partner a serial repairer and if so,how does this work? do you find it annoying that things get repaired rather than replaced or is it seen as a positive thing?

I'll admit im a repairer but i do know when something has either had it and needs binning/recycling OR is worth having repaired by a specialist.

My most recent repair..An AEG condensing tumble drier that stopped working. Part required £8,,fitted, off it goes again.

Of course you have to have the necessary diagnostic and repair skills too.

My dh has repaired our washing machine three times now...once at the beginning of the first lockdown. He also repaired the dishwasher. The cost of calling out a washing machine repairman three times would have been so great, we'd have may as well bought a new one. I'm incredibly grateful that dh can repair stuff

Well done FB. There is much to be said for repairing. I will seek to repair anything thats viable. I dont care what it is.

Dh is good at repairing, but will buy new if necessary. The balance is right. So I don't see this as a problem.
