If you’ve gone for brass kitchen taps

...what have you done about your cooker hood, fridge handles etc that are usually aluminium or chrome?

I want a retro Smeg fridge but the handles are chrome, so I think I will have to give up the brass taps plan.

Or give up the fridge. But so many other things have chrome/steel trim I’m wondering if I should just keep things simple and go with brushed steel taps.

I don't think you need every metal to be the same. However I think keep to a rule of two metals and no more and it'll be fine. I think kitchens where people match all the metals to copper or brass look weird!

I've wondered the same. On Instagram it seems they ignore the mismatch and just have the brass taps with chrome for everything else, including other kitchen taps.
Another question - do you need to Brasso the brass taps all the time?

I did as matchy as I could manage - brass taps, brass cupboard handles, integrated the FF and cooker hood.

Our hob is black ceramic but has chrome details and the oven door has chrome handles, but both are a brushed finish rather than shiny and a bit more subtle for that.

TBH I don't sweat it - I think the kitchen looks really good and we've had a lot of compliments on it :)
