Anyone else addicted to Rightmove?

I can't put it down 😂
I'm on there all the time, getting frustrated that nothing new is coming up
I'm having to look at other areas I know I can't move to just to look at something new
Probably doesn't help that I can't make up my mind on where I want to live or what kind of house I want or how much I want to spend
I close my eyes and I see houses
There are worse habits I suppose 🤣

I love it. Moved 4 years ago and no intention of moving again but still get all the email updates! I love a floor plan

BasinHaircut · 28/12/2020 20:21

Yep I love it too. It’s like tinder for married people.

BuzzingTheBee · 28/12/2020 20:21

I like a little nosey, no plan to move

Flowerpot345 · 28/12/2020 20:21

I am always looking too Blush
I love it.

ToffeeNotCoffee · 28/12/2020 20:25

I love a floor plan

This^ DH and I moved on 2nd December. I blame inertia of the search. Or just being nosey. Probably the latter.

Gncq · 28/12/2020 20:26

Ahh you're where we were 4(ish) years ago. We literally looked at every single house that came up on Rightmove in our desired area, a few times, for aaaages.

Nothing perfect enough got us going until one day "that's it! The perfect house! Let's go!" Did the viewings, omg so perfect, placed offer all good. Waited.... Waited.... Oh. Seems as though it went to someone else aaargh!

Went through it all again! Thankfully we did end up in the perfect house (hello view) but safe to say I still get the alerts and still have a nosey look.

Annamaywong25 · 28/12/2020 20:32

Yep, have been for donkeys years. Now an EA so can legitimately satisfy my addiction and call it work.....Grin

FlopMadeMeDoIt · 28/12/2020 20:38

Yup I love it. I get rage when a house is listed without a floor plan.

Comps83 · 28/12/2020 20:58

Oh god yeah the floor plan
It's enough to make me click straight on the back button when I see there's no floor plan

Husband and I are planning on moving back to the UK from the US for our retirement in about 10 years.

He's from Greater Manchester but he doesn't want to return there because he wants to live somewhere different. We last lived in Berkshire but our budget doesn't extend to living there again.

Every week we spend an hour or so on Rightmove looking up houses all over.

Like I said, we move in 10 years! Lol

Katjolo · 28/12/2020 20:59

Yes. Daily. No intention of moving. Looking for home renovation ideas 😀.

Northernsoullover · 28/12/2020 21:03

I'm saving for a house deposit and I'm on there all the time! I keep seeing things in my imaginary budget range then I remember I don't have enough a)deposit b)salary Hmm

GarkandGookin · 28/12/2020 21:03

I have several saved searches and check every day or so.
There is a penthouse in the nearest city that I have my eye on, and several country residences. They are several times our actual budget, and we have no plans to move anyway.
I am very much addicted!

Kitsmummy · 28/12/2020 21:11

Every. Single. Day. With a 10 mile search radius.

I also frequently find do-er uppers and spend a long time re-working the floor plan in my head. I'm not moving, in fact I'm still renovating my own house, but I'm just obsessed Blush

longcoffeebreak · 28/12/2020 21:23

I love a floor plan, a street view and a nearest station Grin

ABigFatCrow · 28/12/2020 21:25

Haha yes! I love when an email update pings up on my screen haha!

PatsyStone39 · 28/12/2020 23:10

My partner and I worked out last week that we had moved 20 times in 15 years...so, yes...Righmove is a bit of a permanent fixture in this (not for much longer) house!

We just sold a house we owned in another country we used to live in, and despite renting in the UK for the last 10 years, we've decided to buy again. Only problem is, we don't know where. We did have three places (nowhere near each other) in mind, but due to the lack of updates over Christmas, it's sent me down a rabbit hole of Great Britain...some places i'm looking at i've never even set foot in!

I need an intervention!

romatheroamer · 29/12/2020 06:52

A bit, even when we're not house hunting. We've moved around quite a lot and I'm always fascinated to see what's for sale/sold for how much where we used to live even though wouldn't want to go back there.

AtlasPine · 29/12/2020 06:55

I do secret passive aggressive searches for houses worth half of ours in beautiful isolated locations when I’ve had an argument with dh (whose job keeps us in London, which I do love really.) No intention of splitting up though!

Twizbe · 29/12/2020 07:01

I love it. I think the 'tinder for married people' comment is right.

I also love a good floor plan and seeing what you could do with the house

dinglethedragon · 29/12/2020 07:44

I had an email exchange with a snotty agent - interesting house no floor plan,

I'm trying to move in the middle of a pandemic, I have animals, a hobby that needs a room, I need a floor plan.

"We encourage people to visit in person" well that's no visit from me then mate. Why would anyone visit a property that didn't give basic info?

The other thing that gives me a rage is the "video tour" that is NOT a video tour but a year 7 PowerPoint compilation of the pictures already on Rightmove - using all the fancy transitions 😡

MindyStClaire · 29/12/2020 07:58

Not Rightmove here, but yes! Always have been, but at the minute we're deciding between moving and extending, and obviously need to decide quickly because of the stamp duty amnesty, so I'm obsessed. Would you believe nothing new was listed on Christmas Day? Grin

Nomoresleeps · 29/12/2020 08:01

I was still looking at rightmove the night before I moved into my current house and I have looked at it every day since.

TheIrishRover · 29/12/2020 08:05

I've recently moved house and no plan to move again but my GOD i love a mooch on right move. This week i took it to new extremes when watching a programme about a couple that divorced, sold their house and bought two flats, i thought I'd better have a look to see what flats dh and i could move into if we needed to do that. I'm actually really happily married Blush

EventOfTheSeason · 29/12/2020 08:13

Yes, I've been a little addicted for 5 years or so. We might actually be able to buy one this year though.
I'm in love with one that is within budget but about 1.5 hours out of the way, I even imagined having christmas in it. Think I'll be quite glum when it goes 😂
