Converting Brick shed to utility

Hi everyone

Hope you are all keeping well. I was just looking for some advice with regards to converting a small brick shed we have in to a simple utility room. It will have a washer, dryer and possibly a sink although not essential. The reason is to free up space in the kitchen.

The shed is single brick with a roof which may or may not be asbestos we aren’t sure. Some builders say it looks like it may be an asbestos roof others say it might not.Confused

The shed is around 1.5m detached from the house. There is no water ingress at all and we already have water piped into it from an outside tap. Just wondered if anyone could give any pointers as to what we need to do to get this to be a functional utility? We need to insulate it but not sure what to look for. I don’t mind getting trades in or doing DIY but just wanted to be a bit clued up so I’m not taken for a ride.

With regards to the roof, if we put a ceiling in and leave the roof in place will the inside be safe to work in doing the laundry? Sorry if this seems really basic! Really appreciate your help!

Take care Smile
