Redecorating - walls or wood first?

Old house, well worn and chipped door frames, dado rails, skirting and moulding. Walls need new wallpaper (we enthusiastically stripped the walls and found too many cracks in the plaster hidden beneath..!)

I need to hang wallpaper and paint it, and repaint all the wood.

I don't know where to start first!! Any ideas?

Ceiling, walls, woodwork if all painted. Although if you're wallpapering and have rails mid wall I'd paint then paper. That way your wallpaper neatens up your edges as opposed to getting paint on your wallpaper.

Ah, good point about neatening up the edges. I'll take any help I can get with that one.

as lemonpiano said paint ceilings, fill and smooth walls paint wood work and wallpaper last that way any paint that goes on the walls gets covered by the paper

Cheers!
