How to replace net curtains - blinds, voiles or leave empty?

The house we have for sale currently has net curtains which friends have advised to remove as it's "not a good or modern look" Blinds would I think be best but it's proving difficult to find off the peg blinds to fit the bay window. Should I persist, go for voiles or leave empty? Thanks.

I’ve just moved house (full renovation project) and haven’t gotten around to proper blinds and curtains for the bedroom yet. These are my interim measure from Ikea - £2.50 each, they’re made of a durable material which filters the light and can be cut to width. Smarter than nets and without the expense of proper blinds, presuming you don’t want to spend money on fittings for a house you’re selling.

Alternatively, if you did want to go with blinds, roller blinds can usually be cut to width fairly easily and as you don’t need large ones you could probably do the whole window for about £50 from somewhere like B&Q or Argos etc.

If the rest of your house is in good condition I really wouldn't worry about the nets. Contrary to popular belief, solid buyers aren't swayed by window dressings if the house is what they're looking for. If you really want to make some changes go for voiles for a quick update but don't commit money to something that new owners will undoubtedly deem "horrific" and replace immediately.

I would just take the off for the photos. Have sparkling windows.
Put them up for privacy even when there are viewings, but perhaps push to the side to let more light in.

I would take them down and put some nice window film on the bottom pieces for privacy, like this. You can get plain or patterned types.

I have this in my house and it was very easy to install, just a bit of water, a squeegee and cutting it too size.

Loads of people have window film around my area... you can get plain or patterned and it looks really neat.

I like window film too and I'm putting that in my living room but I'm putting voile blinds in my bedroom as I face a road and anyone walking by can look into my bedroom.
