A bed that doesn't creak?!

We currently have an oak bed with slats that is insanely creaky and irritating, even just trying to move a leg in bed wakes everyone up!

My thinking was that divan beds may be the best route to go down but after seeing creaky reviews online I'm in doubt now.

I've also had a metal bed frame that was extremely irritatingly creaky, although that was solvable with some WD40 and tightening of screws, the wooden bed doesn't seem solvable.

Any and all non-creaky bed suggestions are appreciated!

we have a divan and it dosent creak from bensons for beds with a super deep silent night mattress

I have the Ikea Nordli. No creaks, I think because base is partially solid and partially slatted and very sturdy.

Was driven mad previously by some John Lewis bed that I was very happy to wave goodbye to when the buyers of my old house asked to buy my furniture, too.

Do not buy the Ikea Malm. AWFUL.

We’ve always had divans, both ottoman and with drawers, and they have never creaked.

I've got a Myers Divan with draws that is 20 years old, I just replace the mattress when needed. It has never creaked and is still absolutely solid.

Always had divans, never had creaking. Our current divan was actually quite cheap (we put all the money into the mattress!) and still no issues.

Divan bases are cheap, plus you get drawers. The only potential noise is a headbanging headboard, so either don't have one, or at least shove sponge anywhere that could move, including of course on the back of it in case you hit the wall. (Just saying!)

My furniture related passion is getting serious casters on beds, sofas, everything heavy. You can get casters with a foot-pressed lock, which means the thing stays where it is told, until you need to move it for cleaning. With the tip of your toe you release the catches, then even a kitten could move a sofa. They don't cost much, and it's a long term investment in your back.

We love our ottoman divan, with a memory foam mattress. Zero creaking.

Water bed
I’ve had mine over 15 years and it’s amazing
Think I paid about 900 all in and it’s never leaked

Grobagsforever · 22/12/2020 08:37

@CarolinaWeeper Yes! We've just bought a John Lewis half ottoman divan with an Eve memory foam mattress. Incredibly comfortable and no creaking. Last bed (slates) creaked constantly!

are all the screws tight?
