Help with survey

Can anyone help me understand this part of a Victorian house survey and help me understand how costly the work is likely to be? Thank you

Full surface moisture test carried out at low level to the ground floor to all accessible wet plastered surfaces and there were some areas of visible moisture staining, decorative surface plaster blistering leaving friable surfaces etc., and high readings were noted to the central area, side flank open wall between the main entrance hallway and the kitchen – this was continuous along the wall and also returning to the short walls either side of the doorway to the main entrance hallway. This was repeated in some of the side flank areas to the rear reception room towards the front of the property.

You'll need to ask the surveyor but he'll probably recommend a damp survey. There's damp to the front and side but he doesn't say what might be causing it. How much it will cost to fix depends on the problem - it could be as minor as moving some earth that's against the house above the damp proof course or it could be something a lot more expensive to deal with.
