Maury smelling kitchen cupboards

Just moved house and the kitchen is pretty old.

I had been planning on just renovating - new or painted doors, new work surface etc but the cupboard interiors smell so musty!

Any advice on how to get rid of the smell? It's really putting me off just sprucing up and now I'm wanting a whole new kitchen but my budget won't stretch to it.

I've cleaned the cupboards obviously- is there something else I could do?

Thanks 😊

Sprinkle bicarbonate of soda on a tray/some foil and leave in every cupboard. It absorbs smells. You could sprinkle a few drops of a nice essential oil onto the bicarb if you want the cupboards to smell nice.

Depending on how many cupboards you have you may need to buy several tubs from the supermarket or you can buy massive tubs on Amazon. I’d leave it as long as possible before removing the bicarb & putting your stuff in the cupboards.

@DontAskForMedicalAdviceOnMars
So I need a lot per cupboard?
Thank you, I will give this a go tomorrow. 😀

Could you remove the cupboard doors for a few days, and wash the cupboard with a mild solution of soda crystals.
