Is this typical? Our place is a Victorian conversion. Anything we have done has been done correctly, but I have no idea about area we haven't touched (basically the sockets).

Our buyers wanted one, similar property. We got an electrician in and it cost £90. They found a few problems which we paid for on top - another £140. It was a bit of a hassle but we didn't want to lose our buyers and it was a relatively small amount of money in the grand scheme of moving. We didn't think it was worth refusing.

sure, let them arrange and pay for one same as the main survey.

ex-renters by any chance? Houses you buy don't come with the same certificates.

yes very normal with a rewire costing 3-5k for a standard 3 bed it's something you need to know about. I would expect to pay about £250 for a decent one

If they want one then they can pay for one themselves.
