Hope you can advise as have someone conflicting advice.

We need a new boiler. Looking like Vaillant.2 to chose from

Plus - more expensive. Stainless steel heat exchanger which appear to need less care and maintenance and last longer? Downside plumber says it is an older model so may not have parts available as long. Base warranty 5 years extendable to 7 years if I stalled by Vaillant approved installer

Pure - cheaper, smaller model, aluminium heat exchanger which I believe are not as robust. Newer model so parts may be available,e longer. Warranty 2 years extendable to 7 with Vaillant installer ..
Any thoughts..my inclination is the Plus?

Many thanks

As someone who has just had to replace a six year old boiler with the delicate version heat exchanger, go for the other one!!

The way we looked at it was like cars. Sure it’s great having the bells and whistles but they do go wrong and require a lot of maintenance and trouble to fix. The basic version still does the job essentially and if it’s easier to maintain or fix it’s less expensive if you look after it (annual service). Over time you’ll recoup the cost if you’re staying in the house and not planning to sell.

I prefer stainless steel to aluminium.
