Discount for cash purchase?

Thinking of buying a second home for cash.

Is it at all likely that I’d get something reduced from the price for a cash purchase (as in, the money’s sitting in an investment fund so I could draw it down Immediately).

Or is that not really worth trying?

we bought cash and paid full asking dosent really matter where your money is coming from all the vendor wants is the money for their house, things to negotiate are survey bringing up major things that are not visible on viewing or if the house is overpriced to start with not because you are cash buyers

It will make you a much more attractive buyer than someone who is in a chain, so yes I would say this gives you a bit of bargaining power. The vendor may well accept a slightly lower offer from a cash buyer than a buyer in a chain in the hope of a quick and easy sale.

Thanks both. I guess it depends whether the vendor is in a hurry.
