Anybody got any idea how to get rid of a blocked outside drain caused by wet wipes ?

I wouldn't have thought many people on the "family history" topic would respond.

Maybe report your post to MN and ask to have it moved.

If it is on your property you'll have to call a drain clearance company. Otherwise contact you local water company if it is in the road

You're responsible for drains within your boundary until they meet shared/communal drains. I.e. if there's a drain in your garden "shared" by your neighbours, then you're responsible for your drain between your house and the shared drain. If that's the case, you need to call a drain clearance firm and pay for it yourself. If the blockage is in a shared drain or outside your premises borders, then you need to contact your local utility firm and it shouldn't cost you.

If you can borrow some drain rods off someone and you can get the manhole cover off ( not easy sometimes ) you might be able to shift it yourself ? If it’s backed up a long way you might not be able to ,depending on how much it’s blocked ? I’ve done it a few times for people but if it’s up to the top of the manhole then no way am I rummaging around in it 🤮

Sometimes a quick poke ( ooooer ). And a few buckets of water is all it needs and can save a small fortune getting someone out 👍

Get some drain rods, they are not expensive and very handy to have. When our outside drain blocked (young ds had been dropping gravel down it), OH bought some rods and some chemical stuff from hardware store and it was sorted fairly quickly. Not a pleasant job but cheaper than getting a company out to fix it.
