Kitchen drawer handles - how long?

Is their a general guide for how long handles should be in proportion to the drawers?
We're having rounding knobs for the top cabinet cupboards, handles for the base drawers (40cm, 60cm and 80cm).
Then for the base cupboards- probably knobs again? Or should these be vertical handles to match the drawers???

I need to get these ordered, I thought I knew what I wanted, but it turns out I don't!
Help!

I'm not even sure if I spelt "drawer" right... brain has turned to mush!

knobs catch clothing, delighted to get rid of the ones on our old kitchen. Have handles everywhere. Make sure the handles are plain with no fussy dirt traps, and the space for hands is big enough - some appear to be designed for use by undernourished Victorian heroines.

which way up - up to you. I prefer the practicality of vertical for cupboards and horizontal for drawers.

I like simple, so I just stuck to plain handles throughout - vertical for cupboards, horizontal for drawers. If you go for a standard hole spaced handle (generally 96mm or 128mm or 160 mm) you can easily replace them with something different if you get bored.

I don't think there is a general guide to how long a handle should be vs kitchen cupboard/draw size. I went to kitchen showrooms and looked online at pics to see what I liked personally (in the end I went for a Hafele D pull handle - fairly small at 96mm spacing but with enough depth to get my fingers under easily).

As a pp mentioned, I wouldn't go for any knobs on lower kitchen cupboards, as they might catch clothes.
