Name changed for this as I've put up an identifying pic.
My windowsills are huge (pic attached). Huge! They are 56cm deep and feel like a wasted opportunity.
Can I do anything with them in terms of creating some extra storage in my (tiny) flat? I was wondering if I could make a hollow space underneath them and either have drawers installed or just make it so the window sill part could lift up.
I have no idea if cutting into an external wall in this way is feasible - both from a safety and an expense point of view. Has anyone had something similar done? Did your ceiling stay up after?
