Mistakes in property brochure

I wondered if anyone had bought a property that had any errors in the estate agent brochure?

Here, only after moving in I realised the kitchen has a radiator cover but no radiator, but the estate agent listing said Kitchen - x1 radiator. The estate agent must have just assumed there was a radiator behind the cover and I didn't check either!

Not a big deal and I know they cover themselves by saying something about having no responsibility anyway!

Didn't you have a survey?
I must say though, that sounds like a deliberate subterfuge!

Yes! Survey didn't pick it up either.

It's obvious now, no pipework anywhere near and I did have two viewings!

I don't think it was deliberate it's a perfect size where it is for use as a shelf, and there is a radiator 1 meter away in the hall.

But you never know!

I don't think it's that unusual for estate agents to make mistakes like this, and I doubt it's a deliberate subterfuge to fool you, just an odd decor choice. However, I'd be more concerned that the survey didn't pick it up as I'd wonder what else was missed.

Not just estate agents. We are buying a house a few hours away so not so easy to go back and check something.
Estate agents plan shows side door for detached garage and I'm pretty sure it isn't there.
Inside: The house has planning for an extension. On the 'as is' drawing, prepared by an architect, it shows a door coming off hallway into dining room. The estate agent plan doesn't show this door but has entry via living room. Again, I'm pretty sure the door from hall isn't there, which is pretty poor on a proper architect plan.
On both plans the fitted wardrobes to master bedroom are missing but fitted wardrobes are shown for the guest bed. The former are definitely there as shown in the photos.

I've seen a few mistakes when viewing. Currently considering one where the backdoor is left off of the estate agent's plans/brochure (I think they made the window double wide rather than window then door as is really the case).

I would be a bit concerned if a surveyor hadn't noticed that though, like FuglyHouse said, I'd wonder what else was missed.

Our brochure was wrong. They missed a cupboard in one bedroom & they completely missed an entire set of built in wardrobes in another. They also put the house was near the M65.. its not. It’s near a different motorway 🙈 They also said there was one radiator in each room when actually most rooms have two.

I suppose all our mistakes were a bonus when you actually looked round..

Yes hopefully no more surprises Grin

That does sound easy to miss (if a bit odd).

When we were buying our current house the brochure showed the floorplan of an entirely different property!
