Quote for blinds

I’ve just had a quote to get wooden Venetian blinds fitted in my new house. 3 bedrooms, living room diner, kitchen and bathroom. A couple of the windows are large but the price is £2900! I was so shocked! Does that sound right? The company were recommended as “the best value” so I worry about getting others out!

You might be talking about Blinds2go??
We had the largest they would make for two huge picture windows, about 10 yrs ago. We went for faux wood, as it was lighter to manipulate . I think the total bill was under £400.
You can do an on line calculation on their website. The blinds are still as perfect as the day they were put up

Blinds can very very expensive, if they are made to measure & are fitted for you. I have Hilarys blinds, and I have spent quite a bit over the years, as we are DIY don’t in our house! If you can order them yourself and fit them you will save a lot of money. I must say I found Hilarys after sales service very good, a roller blind that we use a lot in our lounge, the mechanism wore out, I contacted them, and they immediately sent out a replacement, the blind must have been 5 years old at the time.

Try an independent company. We have just got a quote for plantation shutters and wood effect Venetian blinds for a 3 bed semi - £1600 supplied and fitted.

We bought a large 4 bed and recently did 8 windows in faux wooden Venetian for about £300 from 247 blinds (DH put them up) then got a professional in to do our large bay windows as it was a box windows, that was £520, so £820 in total.

This was an independent local company I got. I thought about 247 blinds but two of my blinds are 3m wide so not many companies stock them. Are they easy to fit yourself? I’m not very handy! Is faux wood much cheaper than real?

Blinds fitted and supplied are expensive
I used blinds to go made to measure not wooden bit i think they do them and we measured and fitted ourselves for fraction of cost.
My dh is carpenter though so measuring and fitting wasn't an issue
My nan used one of the big blinding fitting companies and paid couple hundred for one room but they do look very nice

@Cookiecrumbles2020 it looks like 247 only go up to 250cm sorry, you could do what we did and get the difficult ones fitted and do the rest yourself? Saves a bit at least! They are relatively easy to put up, avoiding the metal bits near the frame when drilling was the main thing. And they don't look any different from the professional ones.

I think ours are faux wood anyway, they look good! Just the Venetian white ones in 50mm slats.

Yes ours are "wood effect"
