Which kitchen design do you like best?

Hello, I'm renovating our new house and need to make a quick decision on a kitchen design.
Which kitchen design (including colours, units, tiles) do you all like best?

  1. black/blue units - tiles half way
  2. green units - pink walls
  3. black/blue units tiles all the way up

All opinions appreciated :) x X

I love the geometric designs you’ve chosen! I personally think halfway up looks better - I associate a fully-tiled wall with bathrooms. The pink/green is lovely and a bit different to standard monochrome/grey kitchens but also looks quite retro so I suppose it depends on the style in the rest of your house.

No3 first then 1

Don't like no2.

Annasgirl · 24/11/2020 13:46

No 1 then no 3 - don't like no 2.

I think half way up always looks better with tiles, unless they are on a small part of a wall above an Aga or something.

Lucky you - I love the design in 3 with the island but prefer the "ambiance" of style 1.

ScribblingPixie · 24/11/2020 13:50

I think the pink/green is so 'now' that it'll look old-fashioned pretty quickly. The other two are gorgeous especially 3, depending on the style & character of your house.

AlexisIsMySpiritAnimal · 24/11/2020 13:52

I like 1 as a complete set up, I think it's lovely.

I like the tiles on 3 but not all the way to ceiling, would be nicer in a more compact area.

Love the green/pink in 2

What suits your space completely depends on layout and light situation.

3 or 1 depending on the height of your room & style of the rest of the house.

MojoJojo71 · 24/11/2020 13:59

I prefer 1, then 3. Don’t like the colours in 2 at all

JoJoSM2 · 24/11/2020 14:54

They’re all very similar with strong cabinet colours, black and white tiling and open shelving.

I’d just make sure you love the colour of the cabinets (or they can be painted easily). The tiling will be easier to change if you go off it in a few years.

BigRedBoat · 24/11/2020 16:50

I like the blue/black units but I'm not a fan of open shelving (just seems like a way to gather dust on everything) so I would have wall units and tile up to the bottom of those. If you're having open shelving and have fairly high ceilings I think tiling up to the top looks a bit more luxurious.

SollaSollew · 24/11/2020 17:03

I like 3 most. I think I could grow tired of the green quite quickly in option 2 and the tiles in option 1 over power the rest of the kitchen.

emmathedilemma · 24/11/2020 17:12

1
The tiles on 2 and 3 are giving me a migraine!

Littlepiggiesinblankets · 24/11/2020 17:29

I prefer 1. Also, it's easier to redo later if it's paint and tiles rather than an entire wall of tiles

Viviennemary · 24/11/2020 17:44

I like number one best. But the tiles are a bit too much. I d prefer lighter coloured kitchens to dark ones though.,

MrsJamin · 24/11/2020 18:16

Number one but I would have plainer tiles, it is a bit full on for something you stand quite close to. Open shelves are great for some things, we have them but you have to curate it to make them aesthetically appealing, otherwise it'll just look a mess.

SoupDragon · 24/11/2020 18:19

I don't like 2 and would prefer 1 with slightly less busy tiles I think. Something with more white space - maybe the tiles in 3?

haircutsRus · 24/11/2020 19:04

I like both 2 and 3 (I'm not sure about the tiles in No 2, although they would probably grow on me as long as the tiler does an ace job).

Not all that fussed on 1 - too generic.

2beautifulbabs · 24/11/2020 19:19

1 & 3 the nicest not a fan of the second one

FastFood · 24/11/2020 19:35

Green Pink, but I'd go for a greyer green and for a softer pink, but it's details.
Also, not a massive fan of the tiles, i'd go for metro tiles, I think green and pink is a statement enough!

Mumbum2011 · 24/11/2020 19:52

3 then 1. Not keen on 2.

Smallgoon · 24/11/2020 20:03

I think no.3 looks a bit odd, but that's because I'm used to seeing wall units, rather than tiles all the way up.

KeyLimePies · 24/11/2020 20:20

#1, then #3, not #2

JustAPassingFashion · 24/11/2020 20:52

Oh God, now I want a new kitchen. I think 3 is BEAUTIFUL, followed by 1. Not a fan of 2...

DamnYouAutocucumber · 24/11/2020 22:15

I prefer 1, but wouldn't do any of these in a North facing kitchen!

Standrewsschool · 24/11/2020 22:18

No 2

1 and 3 are too dark.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 24/11/2020 22:49

1 is nice - the white walls and worktops mean the bold patterned tiles and dark units don't overwhelm too much (while still making a statement) and the wood floor warms and softens up the white and dark blues.

I don't like the colours together in 2 at all - find the warm green and pink a bit sickly together and I don't think it works with the tiles (maybe a cooler green or pink would work slightly better?).

3 is okay but such large amount of bold patterned tiles is bit too dramatic for me, personally.
