Neff C17MR02N0B Built-in Combination Microwave Oven

We purchased this appliance 4 years ago. The inside has corrosion and caused the brackets that hold up the heating element and glass part above (looks like a plate) on the inside roof to drop off. We have contacted Neff who sent their engineer at a cost of £99 to tell us it is damaged and cannot be repaired. He told me he has only seen this on 15 year old microwaves!
I have found reviews on other sites saying the same thing. Anyone on here had this problem with Neff? Because basically they are saying I have misused it, even though it’s not used everyday as we have a main oven that I prefer due to ease of cleaning.

Hi
The exact same problem just happened to me. The top of the micro oven is completely corroded and this has caused the filament to hang off (bracket fallen out of corroded hole) and the microwave glass plate bracket also fell out and broke the glass. Glad I saw your post as I am bracing myself to contact NEFF. A quick look through the internet shows this problem has been noted since 2011. Mine is maybe5-6 years old but they ain’t cheap and should last longer than this

Oh no! Just about to order one! I wonder if this is all Neffs or just the combination oven ones? That's not acceptable at all

knackeredmum11 · 03/02/2021 13:10

If I had my time again I’d go for Miele I think.
Previously I had the back plates of both micro combo ovens replaced due to rusting. They now have anodised rear plates. Didn’t stop the roof falling in though! Personally I’d never buy neff again.

Ps might just be the microwave combo ovens as they are very wet after use and you have to leave the doors open after to get them dry !

Hi, we too have this built in microwave oven. It’s impossible to clean to top of it around the heating element, such a poor design.
@knackeredmum11 - did you get anywhere with Neff?

knackeredmum11 · 26/02/2021 11:33

Sorry for the delay. I have gone back to the kitchen supplier I bought all my gear from and they are going to try and make a bit of noise with the regional NEFF rep. 3 weeks later - still waiting to hear back!

I have the exact same problem. The inside of my Neff Microwave has also eroded and the brackets gave fallen away leaving the disc in the oven loose. Did you get any reply from Neff?

alibobs · 07/08/2023 08:56

I got no where with Neff it’s still broken sitting in my kitchen 😞 I had to buy a microwave for the counter top! I have decided to wait until the main oven breaks down and then replace both with another brand. Their customer service is shocking and I personally will never buy Neff again.

Same for me should change name to Naff

I have a Neff standard (non Combi) oven, the top spec model N90 when purchased in 2020, after 5 years facing same issue. The bolt that holds the heating element on the top has corroded and dropped. Left a 1cm hole behind. After further inspection there is one more small hole of 2-3 mm on the top of the cavity. Also a day after this happened the light cover broke on its own and fell off leaving the thread part inside the light cover housing, this latter issue happened without oven being in use.

I guess trying to bring an Neff Engineer to repair for £110 is pointless. Dont want to spend that money to be told is not repairable. I guess anything around cavity corosion that has created holes of any size is not repairable.

I would save your money towards a new oven they don’t want to know in my experience.
