Exposed Shower Fitting Advice!

Hi all,

Does anyone have any knowledge of exposed shower fittings?

We are looking to fit a new version of what we already have - a traditional exposed shower.
The problem is the long vertical pipes online are all much longer than what we currently have! (1230mm vs 85mm)

Does anyone know if this pipe can be cut down by a plumber in order to fit in with our existing wall fittings? (it's a low ceiling so don't have any extra room for it to go any taller!)

Thanks and really appreciate any advice on this :)

Yes plumbers can cut pipes, copper pipes are slightly softer so it may be that their pipe cutter won’t do it, but a hacksaw with a metal blade should.

Do check what the upright pipe is like.

I have a similar exposed shower and the upright pipe (chrome) had a fixing at each end which meant that the pipe couldn't be shortened. In the end we had to lower the incoming pipes - it was a new shower room but it had been tiled at that point.

With hindsight I think we could have got a chrome 'joint' and shortened the upright but suggestions like this baffled the plumber and so the pipes were relocated.
