I've posted about my solicitors before about the fact that I don't think they processed my first purchase correctly, but I am really in a pickle with them now and I don't know what else I can do! Please help!
I am currently pregnant and we found a bigger house we loved in June/July. We got an offer on our house and accepted end of July.
We instructed the estate agents solicitors but the price was just too much, almost £3k, so we asked the solicitors we used before to do the sale and purchase mid-august.
Its now nearly December, I've had 3 solicitors within the firm and I still haven't heard ANYTHING about the purchase. I email daily but they change the subject of my question to the sale.
I sent a simple yes or no question 3 days ago and I still haven't heard anything. I chased up and the solicitor said she hasn't had time to look at my emails yet. To me this is unacceptable. We are paying them and if they can't handle our case then they shouldn't have taken it on.
It's now 15 weeks since we instructed them and we are nowhere near arranging a completion date.
I have called the senior solicitor, but that has done nothing.
The sellers and buyers solicitors are chasing me almost daily because they aren't getting any responses from my solicitor.
What can I do, do you think it would be best to terminate the contract with them and just pay the extra to the other solicitor? I don't feel that we are ever going to get anywhere with them.
