Royal Mail redirect

Hi,
I need to set up redirection for mail, in case I’ve forgotten to change my address somewhere. Many years ago, I remember taking some form of ID to post office and sorting this out. Wondering if anyone has applied online and does it involve scanning/sending copies of ID?

You can do it online with no i.d needed. You have to have a payment card registered to the previous address to pay with though.

Just to add - remember not everything will redirect. Anything from HMRC or DVLA will just be returned to sender and in the case of DVLA can result in big fines for not updating your details.
