Do you know a lovely pink colour for a young girl's bedroom?

It is a small bedroom. I have tried about 4 tester pots including Dulux Spring rose (which my oldest said makes her eyes hurt). Anyway, any recommendations and/or pics please?

Maybe the answer is to use a different colour then. If you're planning to fill it with pink stuff too, it will look less like a marshmallow factory exploded if the walls are a neutral.

Dead Salmon (Farrow and Ball) is lovely. Not quite pink, not quite beige, very neutral and pretty.

My dd has her bedroom in the valspar Pantone Crystal grey. It’s a very pale pastel pink, it looks lovely and definitely not in your face.

user I am set on pink. I get what you are saying but I want a pink that isn't too luminous, in your face pink. I want a neutral, nice maybe blush pink

What is it you don’t like about the colours you’ve tried so far? Too pink? Not pink enough?

I personally really like Farrow and Ball Pink Ground, which is a yellowish pink. It’s a fairly subtle, calm pink

My dd has Dulux Dusted Damson around the bottom half of her room. It's a beautiful colour.

Lucked · 15/11/2020 23:35

Dulux blossom white. The ‘white’ range are all really lovely and true pastels.

PurpleSweetPeas · 15/11/2020 23:36

Farrow and Ball do a gorgeous pink. I think it might be called Cinder Rose but could be wrong. It's a while ago I used it

Valspar Nana's pearls. Very lovely, "not pink" pink. Dusky, definitely not sickly sweet, and will complement any other pinks in bedding, furnishings etc.

Dulux Ballerina Dance is a lovely pink. My youngest wanted a pink room and I found it much harder to choose one than I have with any other colour. She also had one wall Berry Smoothie which is much darker. The Dulux website recommended the combo and we like it!

theonlywayisup33 · 15/11/2020 23:39

Crazzzy The colours I have chosen so far -Valspar -Fairy Floss, Dainty Delight, Tender Romance, Eraser Pink and Pink Bangles are too dark.

I want a true neutral pink. The Dulux Spring Rose seems a bit insipid.
Think will try some Farrow and Ball ones but they are so expensive.

Little Greene Dorchester Pink Pale or Mid - get a tester pot to check you like it. Cheaper to have it matched in Leyland or Johnson base.

Avacadoandtoast · 15/11/2020 23:42

Sulking Pink by F&B.

You can get them colour matched at a reasonable price

Qc16 · 15/11/2020 23:43

Farrow and Ball colours can also be mixed in Leyland or Johnston bases.

WoahBodyforrrm · 15/11/2020 23:46

I'd also recommend dulux blossom white.

I spent an arm and a leg on tester pots from all sorts of naice paint companies thinking that was the way to get a nice pink that wasn't too princessey or bubblegummy. Good old dulux came up trumps, it's a lovely colour!

jonesmum · 15/11/2020 23:48

This year we used Craig & rose ‘rose pink’. Quite strong but chalky blush pink. Room has lots white & white curtains. May also be nice as accent wall if lots other pink.

I love calamine by farrow and ball.

theonlywayisup33 · 15/11/2020 23:50

Thank you. I know it can't be too pale, i.e. for my taste though as it is child's room and they like bolder colours, in general.

Why don't you get the child whose bedroom it is to choose, then? You'll have to paint it again at some point, so I'd give them the choice of colour as they will be the one spending most time in there.

CandyLeBonBon · 15/11/2020 23:55

Why don't we put some colours here and you get your child to choose and then go from there?

TicTacTwo · 15/11/2020 23:56

Dd had Crown Powdered Clay on her walls

pickledplumjam · 15/11/2020 23:56

Farrow and Ball Calamine

CandyLeBonBon · 15/11/2020 23:56

Sorry @TheSmallAssassin X post

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 15/11/2020 23:58

There was a sponsored thread recently where Mumsnetters had tested a paint range (wipe clean perhaps?). And a few had trialled a pink and said it was lovely.

CarrieMoonbeams · 16/11/2020 00:03

Farrow and Ball Slipper Satin is gorgeous. It's a pale blush pink which co-ordinates beautifully with stronger coloured accessories like cerise, purple, green duvet cover curtains etc. It looks lovely in afternoon light, really warm.

I get it colour matched in Johnstons, and for only a few £ more it's worth getting the durable one.
