Do you know a lovely pink colour for a young girl's bedroom?

It is a small bedroom. I have tried about 4 tester pots including Dulux Spring rose (which my oldest said makes her eyes hurt). Anyway, any recommendations and/or pics please?

We used calamine by f&b when dd was little, lovely colour. Then added brighter accents with duvet and curtains.

I've been looking at pink paint in a "I think I'll paint a wall pink" lockdown kind of a way. I like Little Greene's Pink Slip, especially if you could get it colour-matched. I'd only use it on one wall though and paint the rest white.

Dulux Jasmine Shimmer

Thank you so much everyone- I have plenty to choose from now.

One question- if I were to get a F&B colour matched using Johntons, do they get exactly the same?

I went with Shaw paints when I needed a nice pink because they had many more options than dulux.

I have Valspar gentle kiss ... it's nice and neutral

Not F&B, it's really overpriced for the quality.
Check out Little Greene or Tikkurila (less well known but good quality, low VOC and good value).

We have just done our bathroom Dulux Blush Pink, it's a really pretty shade. It was the 5th one I tried (from various brands); all the others, however they looked on the chart, were either ice-cream pink, or too peachy.

My teen DDs room is painted in pink ground by farrow and ball and it is a gorgeous colour. It goes nicely with blue too so you can have different colours curtains and duvet covers and it won't clash. It's a grown up pink, and I'd love a bedroom painted on this colour, but it would be equally delightful in a younger girls bedroom and had more longevity than a sugary pink.

We did sugared lilac. It's a bit more grown up and has lasted well

We had Johnson’s colour matched F&B Peignoir for DD’s old room and it was gorgeous, had many compliments on it and was a great match I thought.

DORCHESTER PINK by Little Greene
PINK GROUND or SETTING PLASTER by Farrow & Ball
Pink Peppercorn by Neptune

We have Crown Fairy Dust in my DD's bedroom. It's not as bright as it looks online.
We also have it toned with white and grey so it will last her a good few years

Dulux's dusted fondant is lovely. Considering it for my little girl's bedroom.

We have Dulux soft stone in our bedroom. It's a lovely muted pink.

DD has F&B Calamine in her bedroom. She had it in our old house too, but colour-matched by Johnstone’s (or whatever they’re called).

I much prefer the finish of the real F&B - it might sound silly but I can tell the difference - the colour-matched one seemed to lack depth or pigment or something. I cut costs this time by only painting 2 walls (also because I couldn’t be bothered to remove the wardrobes that were attached to the walls on the other two!)

tengingers · 16/11/2020 19:16

Dd has Adobe 5. It's dulux but from the decorator centres where they mix it up themselves. It's incredibly pale but can go a few shades up if you want it slightly more pink.

ivfbeenbusy · 16/11/2020 19:23

Dulux pretty pink

EndlessWaffle · 16/11/2020 19:26

@theonlywayisup33

user I am set on pink. I get what you are saying but I want a pink that isn't too luminous, in your face pink. I want a neutral, nice maybe blush pink
Cinder Rose. Farrow and Ball. It's beautiful up. Rose gold accessories around the room.

Colour match never comes up quite the same. It's a small room so hopefully not too pricey. Or do the pricey colour on 1-2 walls and white elsewhere if you really need to keep cost down
nomdeguerrrr · 16/11/2020 20:17

First Light by Benjamin Moore is nice. Definitely pink but very liveable

Hopingtomeetmymiracle · 16/11/2020 20:32

We have used Dulux Mellow Mocha recently and it's a nice dusky blush pink. Grab a sample roller though as it's a completely different colour to the colour show on the pot.

PixellatedPixie · 16/11/2020 20:39

I recently painted my daughter’s room in Middleton Pink by F&B and it has a subtle warm glow which is amazingly cheery in Winter. I painted it myself and so saved on labour costs so spent a bit more for real F&B as the similar one from Duluth just seemed to have less dimension.

hootatoot · 17/11/2020 10:57

Hi you pmd me asking for a picture of the Dulux paint I tested. It's a nice soft and subtle pink. Not great pics unfortunately as it's the downstairs loo and the light isn't working Hmm
