Doll’s house floorplans - anyone else hate them?

DH and I are considering moving house. I’ve been looking at properties on Rightmove and have noticed that several houses include a “doll’s house” floorplan (estate agent’s wording, not mine) in the particulars. They’re basically 3D floorplans of a house.

It sounds ok in theory but they’re shite - the image is always too small to see properly on a phone and they’re generally just a mess and really hard to decipher compared to a lovely traditional floorplan. Some houses even have one instead of a floorplan diagram (horror!)

Has anyone else come across these and do you hate them as much as I do? I think when we sell our house I will specifically ask the agent not to do one, as they annoy me so much! I hope they’re not going to catch on...

Oh they're absolute garbage. I can't make head or tails of them half the time as they're so scrambled and small. It's always the same agent that does them around here. Trying to have a USP I suppose, but if it aint broke, don't fix it.

One example from a property i just looked at Hmm

I’ve seen those for a couple of houses and found amazing. But I’ve got an iPad so maybe a bigger screen helps?

They are brilliant- walk through tours of the property and really helpful on making a judgement of size as they don’t have the fish eye lens

I think they are really helpful in terms of understanding layout and meant we were able to rule houses out without seeing them irl which is very helpful at the moment when there are restrictions in place

I really like it but can you turn it to see from different angles? Otherwise you can't really see the shape of the rooms underneath.

Oh yes, the virtual tours are great. But when it’s a 3D floorplan with no tour it’s useless (as per the photo @AnnieMaul posted).

I don't think I've ever seen one that isn't linked to either close ups of the rooms (still 3D image but one room at a time) or a virtual tour. i do prefer proper floor plans as you get room sizes on them.

I do t particularly like them but can see where they'd be useful. I still like to see a traditional floor plan alongside as I get a better idea of how the layout works that way.

Agree they could be used alongside the usual floor plan.
