Renting property in London

Is it true that no landlord will rent 1bed property if I have 2 kids. I cannot afford 2 bed. How people afford 2 and 3 beds in London? Is anyone here who has tried flat or house sharing having family? We have been sharing last 2 years but I want to find now my own house. I have benn looking last 2 months and it’s tricky because it also have to be walking distance to school.

How old are your DC? Are they the same sex? There are rules about overcrowding so the landlord could be fined it they break them.
