What colour walls and curtains to go with this (feature wall) wallpaper?

I'm starting with a blank canvas and I really liked this wallpaper as a feature wall type thing for the chimney breast. I'm just not sure what colour walls to paint the rest of the room, and what colour curtains?

The room has a bay window (so need curtains that will cover the 3m width of window) but is a bit dark overall, so I'm not sure about going with dark walls.

The sofa is grey, the small dining table is light oak, the rest of the furniture is white (Kallax and Billy bookcases).

Anyone got any inspiration?

Thanks PresentingPercy I like the idea of putting it on a different wall, and I really like that first one you posted

I am a fan of light rooms! However a well chosen wallpaper really can add to this - just do not have it too busy! Unless you have a grand room of course.

Sadly I don't have a grand room. I was thinking about just painting it with some of the dulux light and space paint to make it feel bigger. I couldn't decide on a shade though Blush

I like the neutral or pale blue palette. I’m not a fan of yellow hues.

So, umm, I've been talking to the dc and they asked if we could go for a pink lounge and no wallpaper. I was a bit nonplussed as I associate pink with girly girls (and I'm not), but have come round to the idea after looking at more muted shades of pink.

I'm thinking we could go this sort of colour (dulux blush pink). https://www.homebase.co.uk/dulux-standard-blush-pink-matt-emulsion-paint-2-5l-_p489944

So now I need to find some bay window curtains that won't cost a fortune and will tie in with our grey sofa and white shelving. Any suggestions are welcome!

I like these ideas. The curtains the same shade as the walls looks chic. I especially like the leading edge being a contrast deep pink. You could always have floaty linen curtains in a dusty pink, silver grey or even white. Much cheaper than lined curtains. I also like the dark blue accent wall and lights that pick out the colour. Dark accents are also used in picture 1.

I really like the curtains in the first pic. Do you know where they're from?

No. given the length of them, poisible bespoke. However a pink cotton (huge numbers of manufacturers - Look at Clarke and Clarke for good prices) plus a deeper pink is easy enough to find. I doubt they are ready made. Or source pink plain curtains and add the border yourself.

Are you set on curtains? As I would perhaps opt for wooden blinds in white or a pale grey which would tie in with your room. Or even Roman blinds if not too expensive.
