Trying to do up my home a bit fairly cheaply. As most are I am getting a bit sick of seeing the same stuff now I'm bloody here 24/7!

So I've started with my bedroom and last night bought two sets of new bedding (plain grey, plain charcoal) with contrasting bright fitted sheet and second set of pillow cases (orange and teal)

I now need to work out what to do with my walls. Currently magnolia.

We rent and the walls have mismatched textured wallpaper which I can't remove.

Would you go for white? Would that unintentionally highlight the horrible wallpaper?

Carpet is 'cheap landlord brown' which I am just going to ignore as best i can.

Any advice appreciated 😂

I’m a huge fan of white bed linen so you lost me there with your choices!

I am not sure you can paint the walls? Do you have permission from the LL to do this? If you can redecorate I would take the wall paper off and paint the walls. It’s time consuming though and you need to make good. I would ask if you can do that. Colours? I like Wevet by FandB. Very pale grey/white but it lights up a room. Ditto borrows light. Both look better with crisp white bed linen with accents of colour in cushions and throw though.

I would invest in a big rug. That’s an easy change to make.

Borrowed Light. You can get cheaper Paints that match these colours.

@PresentingPercy you have just named my two favourite F & B colours!

@MrsRogerLima wevet would work in the bedroom you describe I think, if funds don't stretch, get a colour match.

@PresentingPercy I don't do plain white - makes me think of hotel rooms and hospital beds 😁

I can paint as long as its pretty neutral. Landlord did specify though I am not to 'interfere' with the wallpaper. God knows what that means it's covering!

So, wevet? Let's look that up 😊
