Removing fake lead work off a upvc door glass

I have a rather hideous house number on our front door, just the outline and in a strange font, on the glass. Next to it we have some strange flower leaf type things which are also lead work but this time with painted inside. Is there anyway I can remove these things so we can just have a clear pane? I would like to get some numbers to match our new door knocker and the new letterbox and handle. Apart from hideous, the other reason I'd like to remove them as delivery people just don't see them.

Yes, we took it off all of our windows, it just lifts off. However 12 years on there are still slight marks you can see from the adhesive, when the light shines on it in the wrong way!

What did you use to take it off? Were you able to just scrape it off, or did you need to use some chemicals or heat gun?

It literally just scraped off. Once you get the corner lifted the strips just pull away.

But ask around friends and neighbours for your local independent plastic-door-and-window-and-patio-doors repairperson 9there will certainly be one)

I've had double-glazed units in windows replaced for an average of around £50. A large door, reglazed in laminated glass (for burglar resistance) was a few hundred.

For the person who knows how to do it, it's a trivially easy job. If I'd known beforehand how cheap it was, I wouldn't javer put up with misty windows.

You can have them changed to obscure glass, or matching glass, or security glass if you want. The sealed units are made up in a factory, to order, so there may be a delay of a week or so between measuring up and fitting.

These people can also adjust or repair hinges, locks and latches if necessary.

I found mine through the window cleaner.

Don't go for a big brand company, but do get a personal recommendation (websites where traders pay to be rated or trusted are not recommendation sites, they are advertising sites)

So a moot (say it with Michael Sheens accent for that is how I hear it now) point as they have done the leading on the inside of the sealed double glazed unit, as well as the outside! Including the paint! Ffs! I am now stuck with hideous floral display and numbers. I shall carefully paint the numbers so they are a solid black and hopefully the delivery drivers will see it better.
