Boring house and contents insurance question.

Just had my Buildings/contents insurance renewal quote and it's gone up again although I've not claimed anything for years.
I'm not yet in the 30 days period for buying new insurance but I went on one of the big price comparison sites recommended by Martin Lewis and the exact same level and type of cover I've got now is much cheaper. Thing is I'd have to have the start date 3 days before the current one expires.
Is that allowed as long as I make sure I stop my current policy from autorenew?

TIA

Hey, yes it’s completely fine. Ideally you want to avoid dual insurance because not only will you be paying twice, it can cause problems between the insurers if something were to happen. It’s only three days though so shouldn’t cause any issues.
