Does anyone have an electric or gas ‘wood burner’?
Would you recommend and/or can you link to yours if you love it?
TIA Smile

Just putting this one in to my Mother’s house (she can’t cope with the logs and ash anymore. It is very realistic. The main difference is it is cleaner and does not smell right. Eg cannot smell burnt wood.

I had one in my last house, it was a big new build and the fireplace needed one as a feature, luckily our neighbours (similar house) told us they couldn't use their real log burner because it made the room too hot and was difficult to turn down/reduce the heat once it was going, we put a gas one in and it looked great but with all the insulation in the house we hardly ever had it on. No one could tell it wasn't real on first glance

I've got this Calor one, comes in different colours, we have the matt black. Looks nice and gives out a decent heat. Not too difficult to move from room to room as it has discreet wheels underneath. Easy to swap gas bottles.

Thanks @MissSmiley our house was built in the 80s and we’re dubious about whether it has cavity wall as it is a bit chilly.
Can you remember where you got yours/the brand?

We have a Woodwarm Stove. It’s so realistic and can kick out heat.

I have a Firefox 6. I love it. It looks the same, it's easy and clean. As a PP said it doesn't have that nice wood smell but it does make the room toasty & cosy

We have a Yeoman gas stove - so authentic and has fooled many a visitor to our house. Love it! www.fireplacegalleryfires.co.uk/p/yeoman---cl5-gas
